Oops That would be Cinta and Clint. I think his may be in another thread. He also uses a different method than your Cinta. I will be trying your method. I have the styrofoam container, all I need is a bag of pebbles and some stuff to make the pebbles stick to the styrofoam. Hurray!

I was asking because I have not seen Clint's method. Can someone give me a link. I like to try everything with styrofoam. It is so green to keep it out of the landfill.

Here is the last one I made.
-Rocks from the Dollar Store 2 bags
-2 tubes of outdoor caulking
-styrofoam
-onyx chess pieces from the Goodwill 2.00 for 32 pieces
-resale warehouse glass tiles 1.00 a sheet. It took 2 sheets = 2.00

Spread your caulking on the styrofoam like icing a cake make it thick push your rocks or ornaments down in the icing. Let it dry do the next side.

I've painted styrofoam for planters, but do like the pebble ones. Have several containers, now to get busy and get finished. What I say and what I do are two different things, usually, but I sure want to try this.

I'd been working with this friend.. getting her two car garage to have a roof garden on top.. a circular stairway reprposed from a torn away job.. and some railings... then I taught her how to make the planters ot of the 2" foam.. which she tried and had a few made.. then I suggested she make some with decorations on them... andd left her to it... these are a few of the ones she came up with... one of rocks and jewels and one with the veneer brickThumb of 2012-08-31/GordonHawk/7ffcf6

I need a work shop!! Finding places to store things is getting to be a major problem. I bring home styrofoam containers and end up piling them up on the patio. I even bought some glue for styrofoam and have yet to use it. Everyone is so far ahead of me, but I love to see all the results. Thumbs up

Question: Has anyone done faux bois. I was reading up on the Martha Stewart site. But she puts a box together and I am not up for that.
I and wondered if I took a styrofoam box, like the one Tabby talked about earlier, and coated it with putty of some kind

Could I then use a rocker like they use for painting to create a wood look to the exterior. Of course as soft as the styrofoam is perhaps just dragging

the rocker and pressing real hard would give the wood impression. Then I suppose I could paint two colors getting the lighter colors in the grooves and a darker color lightly painted over the top ....

I do have all these ideas, it is just my execution that is lacking. I never did find a box. I don't have the patience to deal with the packing stryro. with all those holes. I want a box. I checked Michaels to see if they sold them but no.. I looked at the balls, but decided they were too full of bubbles to work.

I may take a plastic box and try the putty and rocker on it to see what it might do.

What do you think?? I'm all ears! I'm all ears!
