Air-Layering

By drdawg

Often, we want to propagate a special or valuable plant but find seeds are hard, if not impossible, to find and/or have failed at rooting cuttings. Air-layering may be the answer to this problem.

Thread OP

I got a Ficus lyrata 2 months ago.

Recently the leaves have start to crack and brown around the edge.
I do not have lots of sunshine. I have purchase lights to support the light issue.
Moisture is okay. I do spray water on daily basis and I do put water around the pot to increase moisture level.
More and more leaves have been dropping as well.

I have tried watering it once and still dropping. I'm really not sure what is going on with this big guy. I worry my place may be too cold for it.

* the white powder on the soil is "Insectigone" powder trying to get rid of the centipedes that is in the soil.

What should I do ??

I really want to save this plant.

Welcome! @Kmkh.

I need more information. Where do you live? How cold does the area get that the fiddle is in and for how long? Does the temperature increase/fall during a 24 hr. period and if so, what's the range? What sort of light from 8 AM till 5 PM does the plant get? How often do you water, or more importantly, when/why do you water? Please be as specific and expansive with these answers, and any other information that you may deem important.
