Found a 4th flower stalk... Hurray! 4 out of 9..numbers improving! Now if only the winds die down a bit..it is breaking the leaves already. Rolling my eyes.

Lovely blooms jmorth! Hurray!

My plant is still sending out blooms too amidst our terrible heat wave. So just have to keep on watering this one very heavily to keep it going!

Good to hear you are okay Caroline. Btw, Happy Canada Day Smiling

Thanks jmorth I tip my hat to you.

Here's the latest batch of blooms I have. This plant is a fighter..tolerates 100F ++ as long as I keep on giving it water. Just have to stake it though, the stalks too tall already. The leaves are trying its best to stand and be perky, but I guess it is just too hot.

How often do you water in Dianne? I find this plant so thirsty, sometimes even watering it twice a day or more especially during this heat wave.

Mine's is in the ground, so maybe every 5 days or so I turn the soaker hose on. It looks green and healthy enough, just no blooms. I have not fertilized in years, maybe I need to do that too. I was hoping benign neglect will cause it to bloom Green Grin!

I potted mine up a couple of months ago and put them under the lights because they were starting to sprout and mine have already bloomed. I suppose that's it as far as flowers are concerned for this year, but they were very nice to have with all the cold weather outside.

That is really an early bloom for you Dora! Smiling Over here, since it is outdoors, it waits till temps hit 80's and upwards to show.

I assure you my house isn't that warm! Smiling My thermostat turns the temperature down to 16C (about 60F) during the day when I'm at work. I have the lights on for about 16 hours a day though, and when I first potted them up they grew fast enough to be very close to the lights.

Thankful that our heat wave last week did not fry this one, and the cool down yesterday helped the buds a lot. Just have to keep watering deeply..such a water hog!

WM had some Peruvian Daffodils on clearance and I thought why not, and purchased some & planted them. A few weeks later they started blooming (while I was away, of course), but I was still able to enjoy them. Meanwhile, the ones that I have in the ground haven't. That leads me to believe that it's too cold to leave them in the ground here in zone 8a. I read somewhere that they don't like getting cold, and are not quite as hardy as the white Spider Lily. So, I have to dig them up in the fall and store them. Is that what you do @JMorth?

Finally cleaned up my H. Ismene Festalis..just won't rest on its own when it still feels the 60's and I guess the occasional Fall rains is something it likes.
