How big should the bulb be for blooming?

I have some lycoris radiata that were transplanted 2 years ago;
They haven't been blooming - dug up many, many bulbs that are 1 inch or smaller. Also do they not like being disturbed and transplanted? Will they sulk?

Have some sprekelia bulbs that have never bloomed; do size matter for these to bloom? How big should they be for blooming?

Maybe a stupid question but you didn't prematurely cut off all the foliage, did you? That's been my undoing a few times. Lycoris aren't huge bulbs. I would think after 2 years, they would begin to do something. But for this year's blooms, you shouldn't be seeing anything until later in the summer...

IME with moving Lycoris radiata, they can take a couple years to adjust. Drought the past couple summers really took a toll on mine.

I agree that Lycoris do not like to be disturbed. When I moved here, I transplanted some in April 2015 and didn't get any blooms until late summer 2017 and not all of them bloomed. I'm hoping the rest bloom this year. A mature Lycoris Bulb is about the size of a golf ball, but they will probably bloom before that. They like loose well drained soil and I've read that they like to be on the dry side while dormant, so I do not water them in summer. I let the fall rains wake them up.

Planted some Lycoris I received, took almost 3 years before they bloomed. They take awhile aft transplanting.

I am certain everyone knows, that Lycoris are not frost-hardy. If you get blooms in spite of frost, consider yourselves lucky. Cheers!

L. radiata is very reliably hardy here in Z8. I don't know how far north it can go.

My lycoris radiata bloom like crazy even after being dug 11 years ago and moved from our old house. What I have trouble bringing to bloom is lycoris squamigera. It was planted 2 years ago, foliage comes up in the spring, but no bloom in the summer.
