Love your chairs, maybe 2013 will be my year to do planting chairs. I've saved a couple old ones we took out of the trash for this purpose and they have been sitting her so long waiting for me to start working on them. I'm glad everyone posts their work so I get inspired.

Working on apple gourds,staining them with India Ink,i need to order COLORS....www.amishgourds.com...wonderful place for Info on crafting and growing gourds

going to tweek this one a bit...change the perch up a bit...

I grew apple gourds this Year....have them drying now....These I got from a friend she had dry ones and green ones....They are soo cool....going to grow more next year...I love India Inks to stain them ..

I want to paint this dried Beauty....Looks like a Humming Bird .... I dont have the skills to make it what it could be

Havent scrubbed it up yet....i have a few more smalll decorative gourds drying now for the cornucopia Idea..

I could see that painted in jewel colors of blue and silver. Awesome!!

I don't have any luck growing gourds. Do you need a lot of space for them to grow? My sister paints gourds and this is one she painted for me. She even made the tiny lady bug on the leaf.

Thank you Sharon and flaflwrgrl, she has so much talent. I really love it! Since she retired she has gone into a lot of crafts that she never tried before. Hoping I get more of her work. I was hoping I could grow some gourds for her, but my thumb has turned brown.

Sharon, have you ever been to Berea's art festivals? They have all types of beautiful, painted gourds.

I have been to Berea's festivals, but not recently. For some reason I don't remember gourds. I do remember baskets and their fiber art, paintings, ceramics, etc. But I've been there when there wasn't a festival so maybe I'm getting memories mixed together. I had a really good friend who went to Berea, so I was there to visit her years ago when I was at Georgetown and UK. When I go to the mountains from here, I sometimes take that route, though it's a little out of the way. I also loved visiting Bybee pottery that was near Richmond/Winchester, I've forgotten the town. It's been awhile.
