Yes! Real early. Usually don't see the first blooms until late June here.

I just found a scape on TENNESSEE AFTERGLOW.

And look. One of the extra earlies is not far from blooming!

Pretty soon, there'll be scapes from sea to shining sea!

It's supposed to be a very warm Memorial Day weekend here so I imagine a lot more daylilies will be getting scapes.

I think that's what did it for the scapes here Cindy. About a week ago we had a long stretch of sunshine and warmer weather. Of course it's back to cold, dreary and wet again. But the daylilies are seeming to love all this wet, even if I don't. There's still sun breaks, so I run out when I can.

We need rain bad. We are leaving tonight to go north for the long weekend and I sure hope it rains Saturday like they say it may. I have my sprinkler on right now. Don't want to leave everything so dry. Want to make sure everything is watered thoroughly before we leave.

Rain is good unless you get too much of it. Hope you have a good time and you get that rain Cindy.

I'm very new to daylilies, so I don't have a lot. I only found out last year that I could grow them here! And it took me a while to figure out what a "scape" was. But I now have a few and there is definitely a nice scape on my Fortune's Dearest, which is looking very happy in its spot and has grown drastically. Barbara Mitchell and Divine Comedy got buried under the hollyhocks last year, but they're looking frisky now...but no sign of scapes yet. And I have some tiny seedlings that I'm thinking about making a separate bed for. I think I'm in love.

I'm trying to convince DH that he likes daylilies better than irises....which I can't grow to save my life!

At least he likes some kind of plants. Mine likes grass.

Oh, he mostly likes flowers of all kinds and is forever bringing me something else to find a place to plant! Unfortunately, his first love is NOT compatible with plants of any sort.....goats!

I keep looking, but so far just the one plant with it's lone scape. It is the largest plant, tho. Sigh, I was really hoping at least a couple of the others would bloom this year. Early days, I haven't given up hope yet!
