Daylilies
I left a photo of one of my seedlings open on my computer.
Over the past several days I've been looking through seedlings photos, and researching daylilies on the internet that I may want to purchase. Going through hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of daylily photos. For so many the photo is terrible quality I have to squint to make out any detail. Or the bloom is actually in bad shape. Or it's just not what I'm looking for, or.... It would start to wind me up a bit, get me a little bit tense and stressed. Feel a headache coming on.
And then I tab over to this seedling photo.
And it soothes me.
The simple, clean look, and the clear, clean color are refreshingly soothing.
I exhale out stress.
Aaaaaahhhhhh…

...I'm going to remember to keep this photo around for future therapeutic use!

Daylilies Native Plants and Wildflowers Vegetable Grower
I can relate. When I found out there were more daylilies than the ones you can find at Lowe's and the local garden centers, about 4 years ago, I'd google daylilies in different ways all the time looking for a new hybridizer to me... trying to figure out what else I've been missing all this time.

These days, when I'm stressed out, or deep in the winter when it has been too long, I have a few go-to growers and hybridizers whose sites I will just visit and look at the pictures to chase the stress away and simply enjoy the view. Bonnie Nichol's Oakhill Daylilies, Judy Davisson's daylilies, Gayle Story's Nature's Edge Daylilies and the first one I stumbled on, Paul Owen's Slightly Different Daylilies.

Pretty cool you found the one seedling that makes you feel all right. I don't think I could narrow it down to one. I'm too fickle.

I Agree with you both. DL's are therapy.
@dinnis616 very nice seedling. It does have a very soothing feel to it. Great color with good form.

Daylilies
Isn't it nice that daylilies (and other flowering perennials and shrubs I suppose) sometimes are therapy? I have a couple go-to clumps in my landscape that during the summer never fail to have numerous great-looking blooms. And more than just something nice to look at, there's sometimes an emotional response—it's invigorating. Or it's calming.…

Did not really expect photos on my computer to have a similar effect! A pleasant surprise. Right now this specific photo just resonates with me. Maybe got so focused on details it's refreshing to just see simple purity. I suppose eventually it will need to be replaced with another… Nice idea to go to other hybridizers websites during the winter-- especially when the new releases are posted…

Dennis that is why I spend many hours in the garden on a daily basis. For now we just have to dream and live vicariously through our own and others pictures. Like most of you I have pictures that I haven't looked over yet. Teresa just started a new thread. I'm going to post some there over the weekend.
