Thanks Becky. Is it the humidity that tears up the wood?
It'll only be the 2nd year for the plants in the keyhole so I'm not expecting much. As long as they live through the winter. I have a couple z5 Lavenders in there and right now they're buried under a foot of leaf mulch. I hope its enough. I also have a Clematis, Lilies, Astilbe, Primrose, a couple different Coneflowers, Galardia, Salvia, 2 types of Stonecrop, and some Dianthus in the garden. Those are just the perennials, I had a bunch of annuals too. The trellis is a crib head board I found in the towns burn pile and rebuilt for the Clematis.
I see you like Daylilies too. I moved out of a house last year in Minnesota that had 25 different varieties of Daylilies. I hated to leave them but I moved late winter and the Daylilies weren't accessible. I e-mailed the new owners and asked if he'd share one with me. He very graciously said yes! I ended up with 10 plants from the old house! I can't wait for next year! Hoping to see which ones they are.
