One more month before the rainy season here -- one more month of unpredictable wildfires, poor air quality, freakish heat waves, and the dire possibility of evacuation or worse.
Everything should be better in November. For now, I'll just escape the dreadful present by concentrating on my memories of traveling to Munich in October decades ago, before family obligations, financial responsibilities, and the ravages of age made that kind of travel impossible.
