So smoky outside so just did a quick watering and took some photos.
Rose (Rosa 'Gruss an Aachen') that I posted a few days ago is fully open now.
Heaven on Earth has different shades and looks. The leaves are always spotted, often rusted, and currently as you can see, covered in ash.

I bought this last summer as the white Blanc Double de Coubert but when I chose the potted plant at the nursery, it had both white and these purple blooms. I've since then had both colors again. The fragrance is divine, a rich old rose smell.
