I grow a plethora of different bulb type plants: Ariseama, Crocus, Asclepias, Scilla, Barnardia, Tulipa, Narcissus, Iris, Lycoris, Lilium, Fritillaria, Claytonia, Gladiolus, Hemerocallis, Apios, Allium, Colchicum, Trillium, etc.

In general, I do agree.

Of course, full sun or shade makes a difference, but with Lilium overall (and including Asiatics), we must agree to disagree. (Although, if you base your decision on the ubiquitous Tiger Lily, then I understand how you arrived at your thinking.)
