I have a son who is a gardener who lives in Minnesota, Zone 5A. He's moving soon and his new property has alot more room for creating flower beds so I'm excited for him. He wants to plant a pink, double, very fragrant rose for his daughter Rosie and asked me what I would recommend. My first thought was an English rose however it doesn't have to be. I've been out of the rose buying mode for a long time now because I gave up on adding more roses due to my constant battle with Rose Chafers and Japanese Beetles. I'm not knowledgeable about the more current David Austin roses. What I have left are mostly early varieties from years ago. Of course looking for disease resistant and a good rebloomer. Must be light pink (non fading), Rosie's favorite color. It doesn't have to be a David Austin rose but he typically has the old fashioned, very fragrant, double blossoms I love.
Not wanting Hybrid Tea roses or climbers. Would appreciate recommendations. Smiling
