I planted some bareroot Meidiland roses last spring. They had a nice year, lots of growth and decent flowering. We had a mostly mild start to winter but it has been below freezing now for over a week, with lows in the teens. The roses have still not dropped about half of their leaves which I've never seen before on any other my other roses. Most of the leaves are still green and look normal, some are yellow with black spots. I was googling this and read in a few places that they should be removed or "burned" off by putting horticultural oil on them on a sunny day. Any thoughts?
