Of these roses, which would be the best?
Colette
Mother of Pearl
Wedgwood Climbing rose (Austin)
Raspberry Kiss (aka Eyes on Me)
Luscious

I can probably fit 2 more in my suitcase tomorrow. Trying to figure out which two is driving me bananas.
I bought Anna's Promise, which really makes me happy.
My husband stayed home this trip and finished several remodeling projects, and that makes me even happier!
My mother bought 4 roses herself. I had to laugh when she asked what would happen if we got caught "smuggling" the roses home. I'm not sure she actually believed me when I told her it's totally legal to fly rosebushes home in your suitcase.
Her Austin climbers had such huge long roots that I had to bend them to fit in the big suitcase.
I'll be back out here in May for the ARS convention so maybe I'll be able to bring back more then. I bought citrus trees, too, and an olive tree, but I shipped them home.
The Lowes store here had a tree with Nectarine, Apricot, Prune and Plum all grafted on the same standard. I bought one for my daughter and one for myself. They were still blooming, and each part was identified. Amazingly, the price for that tree was only $17!!!!!! At home, those are $129. We were so excited about finding them that 2 other customers bought one. The clerk there really knew her trees and told us the chill hours for each tree.
If you live in San Diego, it's the store next to IKEA. They have one left, and they just got the shipment yesterday.
My other bargain was at Walter Andersen nursery, where roses in 5 gallon pots are buy 2 get one free. Sad thing is, I wanted 4, but I couldn't find 6 that I wanted, so I just got 3. Goofy logic, huh? Rolling my eyes.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
