I haven't done one of these parades in a long time because it's so difficult to keep up when all of the roses start blooming like crazy, but there aren't that many blooms in March -- fewer than a hundred photos. Besides, I have a selfish reason for doing this: The thread will provide me with a record of the roses I can expect to bloom in March if I finish my pruning in December.

The descriptions will be provided in sets of three, from left to right.

1) About Face, a Carruth grandiflora; 2) Acropolis, a Meilland shrub; 3) Alice Pat, a Jerabek floribunda

1) Aloha, the Boerner climbing hybrid tea, not the Kordes climber; 2) Ambridge Rose, an Austin shrub; 3) Apricot Candy, a Meilland hybrid tea

1) Archduke Charles, a Dubourg china; Arizona, a Swim grandiflora; 3) Auguste Gervais, a hybrid wichurana with blooms slightly larger than the usual for this class -- 3-4 inches across instead of 2 inches

These three are all Rosa banksia f. lutea. The first is the one I was so worried about earlier this year, but I was wrong. This is just one corner of it. It covers three arbors and the garage roof, and it's growing up into the silk mimosa tree behind it. The second is a closeup of the tiny blooms. The third is another of the banksias, which covers a gazebo.

1) Berries 'n' Cream, an Olesen climber; 2) Bischofsstadt Paderborn, a Kordes shrub; 3) Brigadoon, a Warriner hybrid tea

1) Brown Study, a Jerabek floribunda; 2) Camille Pissarro, a Delbard floribunda; 3) Caramella, one of the Kordes Fairy Tale shrubs

1) Carefree Celebration, a Radler shrub; 2) Carnation, an old china rose of unknown origin; 3) Casino, a McGredy climber

I don't feel comfortable adding any more to one post because we've had a lot of rain, and the saturated soil could bring a tree down and cause a power outage. I don't want to go through all of this and then lose the post, so the parade will consist of several posts.
