PPal - It's not the satellites, it's the ground that causes things to be cattiwonkie. What happens with Cindi in specific is that we have storms here that build up in the mountains here in CO, gather up heat from Denver, then blow like mad through the eastern plains into Kansas, where it picks up moisture from the Gulf stream coming up from Texas, and because the heat is trapped in the storm, it attracts the cold from the Arctic fronts which causes the massive hailstorms there. But, there's so many variables that the meteorological computers just can't figure out exactly WHAT'S gonna happen. They can give good probabilities, but absolutely no certainties. There's a meteorologist here who has the best temperature forecasting abilities. He promises a "30 degree guarantee", which means if he says that it'll be 60 degs, there's a chance that it can be anywhere from 30degs to 90 degs, which pretty much covers everything. For instance, I've been under a Winter Weather Advisory for the past 4 hours. That's why it's like 40degs out there. Sure, we *might* get some snow, but I doubt we'll get the "up to 6inches" that they're predicting we *might* get.
I got a few forsythia blooms! Yay! That means that spring really *is* here!! Just not overly springy yet...
But I got all my mulch moved!!!! took about 14 hours to move 24 cubit yards by hand, but it got moved!!
