DH pruned the roses for me this year. He doesn't know anything about proper rose pruning, he just cut the top 1/3 off but it did the trick. The pruned rose bushes are looking much better than the unpruned roses.


Kelli .... I loved reading this. It was a couple of years after I bought my home before I could get my deer fencing up. The deer had been pruning the roses out in front for almost a decade. Since they didn't know anything about proper pruning, they just did it their way ... Hilarious! The roses are fine.

Your 'Blue Girl' looks wonderful. I am so glad you added a photo of the whole plant to the database. I have to remember to do more of that, too.
