Great color everyone. The sun is out today!!
BH, did you find anything at the plant farm garage sale. I was out there last week and bought a few hellebores in gal. pots for 8.00 bucks.
Sue , your gardens are beautiful and I'm in zone envy.
The sun was gorgeous until about 1/2 hour ago. Had to come in from mowing, it started pouring. Just one more lawn to finish, sure hope the rain stops so I can get the lawn done.
I also found some blooms I wanted to take photos of, but it will have to wait now.
I love the Paisley Abutilon, Sue. Gorgeous blooms and gorgeous foliage.
I just got back from a shopping jaunt with Sue. We went to the Korbel winery for some champagne. They offer four complimentary tastings, and the size of the tastings was so generous that I was a little wobbly at the end. Hadn't had breakfast yet.

Isn't it fun being retired, champagne tasting in the middle of the day?!
I'm cuddled with my doggies now, trying to warm up, what a chilly day it turned out to be.
Yes, I'm surrounded by kitties and drinking coffee.
It's 59 degrees right now, and we'll have near-frost (33-34 degrees) in the mornings from Friday through Sunday this week. Got to get busy bringing tender plants inside. Phooey! I usually don't have to do this until Thanksgiving weekend. The solarium's going to look like a tropical paradise: 30 Hibiscuses, 7 Plumerias, and lots of Clivias, Mandevillas, Kalanchoes, etc. I'm leaving the Begonias outside this year.
I'm really annoyed about this early frost because it means I won't even see the Tibouchina, Passifloras, and Podranea bloom this year. They're just on the verge of blooming, but the frost will shut them down immediately.
Sounds like fun but, my head hurts thinking about it.
This popped up in the last few days The leaves are down in this garden. Need to clean this up so I can see the hellebore when they bloom.
Toad lily. My first year with this guy.
Cold here today too, time for indoor fun. The propagator is full and the coleus are growing
need to take cuttings of all my geraniums. I could use a bigger greenhouse. Someday!!
Nice Coleus babies, Springcolor. If I have time before the frost hits, I think I'll take cuttings of some pelargoniums to grow inside. Now that I'm retired, I can't just buy new ones every year. I have to start developing new gardening habits.
I say, I'm not doing this every year but, I just hate to rebuy all of this in the spring. Some of them are hard to find. I said geraniums but really pelargoniums.
I knew what you meant. True geraniums are hardy and there's no need to take cuttings. I think it's a great idea to take cuttings of the pels. I'm glad you brought it up before too late in the season. I'll just fill a bunch of pots with wet potting soil, put them all in the wheelbarrow, and wheel it around the garden to all of the pels that need this done. That way I can just plunge the cuttings into the pots and then wheel everything into the solarium. This way it'll actually get done. If I went around taking cuttings before I filled the pots, I'd end up leaving the cuttings in a pile for a few days (or forever) first.

Sure, shoot me a t-mail with your address. I have no idea how to start them but they must be awfully easy, I have them reseed everywhere.
Now I got to find who else I promised these to, forgot to send them.
That's an intriguing one, Bonehead. I love Viburnums, but mine aren't fragrant. Will it stay rather small? I'm moving away from giant shrubs that cast too much shade on whatever I'm growing below them.
