Hi everyone,
Here is a Bonica in a pot. We are in Australia, heading to summer now. Should I remove some buds? There is a branch with 5 buds...LOL I am not sure whether it's too much or not

Hello,
I don't think roses could put out too many roses honestly! (not 100% sure though!)
Honestly, I wouldn't remove it unless it has fungus and stuff like that lol!

I would wait until they've just began to bloom and then snip them if you're wanting to cut them off though (: It won't spend as much energy as fully opening them (I think haha)

It looks so pretty and looks like it's doing well!! (:
Yeah, I wouldn't cut them off I would just let them bloom until it's time to deadhead (:

Leave them to bloom. The only reason you would take them off would be if they are taking energy out of the plant when it should use that energy to form roots instead. Your rose is fine. Just keep watering it and you will have a very happy plant.

No, 5 is not too many buds at all. Many roses will produce big sprays . Many even larger than that. Some people will snap off the center bud because it is larger and will bloom first. It's done for exhibition purposes so the others will grow together and all bloom at once. Otherwise just leave them to bloom on their own.

It's beautiful! Usually roses that produce those big sprays of blooms do have smaller flowers.

Tq, I grew Bonica back in the day, and your pic reminded me why I liked it so much! That pink always melts my heart
