DaisyI said:I would say either kalanchoe luciae or K. thyrsiflora. I find them hard to tell apart but maybe this will help you.... or not.

OrchidBob said:My first thought was Echeveria palida but the colors are wrong.
When I googled E. gigantea I could see that, this is it.
I want one now.
Catwalker said:Well, the nursery just called mine "flapjack plant". Researching it, I found Kalanchoe thyrsiflora. Whatever its real name, I love it. Biggest problem now is: it's about 2 feet tall with numerous side plants, and I'm not sure how to go about transplanting! Vero Beach FL, zone 10a (I think).
OrchidBob said:The 'FlapJack' plant refers to both Kalanchoe thrysifloria and K. luciae.
Both of these plants are monocarpic; however, they produce a lot of offshoots at the base.
My flower spikes only reach 2-3 feet tall and I cut them off when they stop blooming. Usually in a couple of months.
The excessive white powder starts to make a mess if I leave them standing.
These are great plants to grow as they can become huge if it is very hot and dry.
I have seen them with 10 inch paddles.
The red edge K. luciae is my favorite and the varigated one with wavy leaves is outstanding. Unfortunately it is a patented cloned plant and the offshoots are not as spectacular as the original clones.
