Thank You! I did go online and found where I can order them from. I also like the idea of using a fork. I only used spoons that I had my DH flatten. I think I have a lot of old forks from garage sales that I will also use. At least they wouldn't have to be flattened, only the handle bent. Am I right on thinking this way?

I think so. I am going to try the duct tape and marine glue. I have a hugely sticky tough duct tape.

I think it will be stable

What I want to do is cover a piece of foam that is shaped like a punk. Use glass pebbles or small sparkly beads, rhinestones, etc. I have to figure out the base.... A small tube...Styrofoam...to look like these real flowers...Not the plates....this way can vary the heights and the wind should not be issue. I have a ton of glass mulch I got from the landfill..maybe can spray it or glue it up and roll it in it and seal.

If anyone feels like looking at some of the glass totems and flowers that I made, I have a website which is http://gardenglassgems.com. I just recently made more glass flowers but don't have the hardware on the back yet so have not taken pictures of them yet.

Thank You! A few years ago when I got started, I kinda went overboard buying glass anything. Now I am trying to get things made to use it up. I try selling some of the things I make but by mid summer I start putting things into my own flower beds. Pictures of my newest glass flowers will be posted soon.

I only have one that I kept the few others I did were given to friends. Right now my goal is to work up the glassware that I have and get rid of it. I would like to make several pieces to give to the local garden club for their fund raiser. Or maybe do a small workshop with the glassware I have. I went a bit over board at first and although I still find it fun to do I am not really making more of them right now. Right now I am working on quilted Valentine Ornaments but then I hopefully will get working on the plate glass flowers I set up a second table in the living area as a project table and find myself making good headway since I don't have to pick up and then get everything back out when I want to work on them.
Life is Great! Holly

I really like your idea of trying to replicate the spike-type flowers in glass. What about using a wooden dowel and attaching that to a small-diameter piece of rebar to poke into the ground so the wood won't rot?

I think I can figure the tail end... It is the Punk that I have to think about .. A small beer bottle would be OK... But, I've a longer more uniform shape in mind . Like a long tobe that a 3 pack of mens underware come in! ... ..like the pillsbury dough case ..the kind you rap at the corners edge..long, lean and uniform. I can make it from wire mesh and cover with an outdoor foam and trim it or cover with a cement... I just need to spark it up. ..and vary height...

Hmmm, our local hardware store sells a wooden clothes hanger pole, like you put in closets. It's about 2 inches in diameter, fairly strong, but still lightweight. Or what about PVC pipe? Hee hee, lots of ideas! Green Grin!

Well....in Brooklyn....punks grew at the edge of watery areas...and we could light them ...it is a rounded head ..cylinder-shaped ...skinny ...tall.....growing thing 😊

Here is what we called punks. And this is the shape I mean to encrust in glass mulch or similiar.
