Nope- no luck at all. This plant, while never common, has become impossible to find. 2230 views by plsnt enthusiasts, and no one has a clue on where this one has gone. The number of views (and replies) is posted near the top of the original post, so you can get a sense of how much interest/participation there is. Hope that helps.

Yes, I'd never noticed that before. I have a terrible habit of scrolling down the page as it's loading, habit from dial-up days I guess. TY for pointing it out!
For some reason, plants have fads. Hanging baskets of grape ivy were ubiquitous a few decades ago, and now are nowhere to be found. I often see Rhaphidophora tetrasperma plants watching old movies, but finding a baby for sale has never happened yet. (I would never buy an already-big plant, and never look at them.) Continued good luck with your search!

Thanks for the links Skylark. I've seen some of these before. I would like to keep any source for this in the US. I had a bad encounter with the USDA a few years back with imported plants that were supposed to be shipped with phytosanitary certs. It was a fiasco.

I'm keeping my eyes open as well, Paul. I've been searching for this one since I lost mine in a bad winter several years back. It seems to have disappeared from the planet.
@pniksch Good news! I just heard from my friend. Not only will she give your cuttings, she will root them, too! Don't you just loooooove Plant People! I will keep in touch via treemail. But i see you haven't been on here for several months? ?

Cheryl, Paul is here ... he just posted yesterday! Wow, that is so awesome that your friend is willing to share cuttings with Paul but as we all know, Gardeners/Plant People are the best! You should convince her to join our great ATP community!

I'm sorry. False alarm.
It is a variegated ficus benjamina that she has. A tree. I am sorry I got everyone all worked up. Of course my friend is still willing to share a cutting. But it is not the vining type you wanted @Paul. Sorry..

Just saw this, after I sent my treemail to you. This is the story of my results in finding this plant! I have a beautiful 'Starlight' F. benj, which does quite well, that I started from a cutting and is now 5 ft tall.
The search continues!

Paul, I am in the tropical plant business. I think I remember that the plant you are trying to find had problems keeping the variegated leaves. As the plants matured, the leaves reverted back to their "natural" green form. Needless to say, at my age, I could be remembering wrongly. But if my memory is close to being accurate, that's would be the reason the commercial growers quit hybridizing it.
