julrich said:No new ones today; the season's winding down, but a number of plants are thinking about reblooming if the mild weather holds. Here's Vision's Voice looking fairly blue:

Keith.....Are you sure this is 'Vision's Voice'? It doesn't look at all like Lambertson's picture or pictures in the database. Could you have mis-marked this plant or God forbid, you were sent the wrong plant.

I like Keith's plant a lot too, which is why I questioned whether it was 'Vision's Voice' after looking it up in the database. Which reminded me to write the two hybridizer's that sent me wrong plants last Spring, and remind them to send them by September 1st. Our temps change so quickly in New England, that I have to get these plants into the ground before the first frost sometime in October or risk losing the plants. This is why I don't order plants in the Fall. It also screws up the blooming cycle as to whether the plant will bloom the following season. Let's say it is questionable.

Is it me, or does that look like BUSY BEING BLUE? please don't say that I need to stay off of Maryott's website.

Beautiful blooms, everyone -- I can't get over how beautiful your MAE GRAHAM is, Alex! And after seeing your wonderful EYED ALLIGATOR I realized I never posted my picture of it taken in early June, so I'll have to do that.

Keith, that one is a beauty no matter who (what?) it is!

And WHITE EYES PINK DRAGON is one I badly want for a particular bed in my garden. It looks like a wonderful, bright daylily!

Our weather just cooled for a week and I got some really cupped tulip-ey looking blooms, but it's warming back up now. A huge grasshopper beat me to the bloom I was waiting for on my new TET. TERRY LYNINGER, but it met with a horrible squishy death yesterday afternoon when I discovered it munching away on my bloom! Ah well, hopefully there will be other blooms...

Betty...lovely blooms. Well done. Thumbs up

Rainy, overcast blah day, today. Weatherman promises warmer weather is on the way through next Monday. That's good because I have major plants in my garden that haven't as yet bloomed this year, and have scapes with buds on them. I want them all to have the best chance to open well. So have my fingers crossed.

I do have a few pictures of blooms I took yesterday that are lovely.

COUNT YOUR ASSETS - Still in its normal bloom cycle. I measured this bloom with a ruler, it was just under 8"across. Amazing! And it opened with nightime temps in the mid 50's.

HAPPY HAPPY - I had 2 blooms from one scape on this plant back in July, and a 2nd scape now is just full of buds. This plant seems to be increasing nicely in size now, with 4 fans.

Thumb of 2013-08-13/ARoseblush/eb496b

ELVIS - Opening perfectly for once! I love this plant. It has been here for several summers, and only this year has it bloomed for me.

And finally, my little one year old seedling bloomed for the last time yesterday. The scape actually had 5 blooms on it, 2 were lost to heavy rainstorms, and were unphotographable. I will put the first bloom up which I took on Aug. 2, and yesterday's bloom, side by side, and you can compare them to see if you see any changes, and where this seedling is heading. Right now bloom size is 5". Here is Alex's Little Baby Sdlg., Hurray! Hurray!

Betty...your 'Cup of Cold Water' looks very much like my 'Cutting Loose'. Sweet! Cutting Loose changes color according to how much daily heat and sunshine is available to the plant, and what that early morning temp is when it opens. You and I face the same challenges being in zone 4. 'Cup of Cold Water' is a lovely bloom.
