Thanks Debra! Feng Shui Moment may be one often overlooked, I don't hear of many growing it. A wonderful performer for me. Beautiful images posted over the weekend, makes it hard to pick favorites Smiling I've never seen Marietta Mellow Mood, lovely one! Started adding a few of Dale Hensley's intro's last year, Beaucatcher Mountain was one I thought about getting. Lucky you Sandy, Psychedelicious has an amazing pattern.

My season has been SOOO long this year, my mids are blooming with my lates! It's been fantastic. Last year due to the heat and drought, my season was so short because the lates bloomed with my mids.

And now I have some reblooms sending up scapes! What a great year! Nothing new to "report" and besides everything that opened early and was still open from yesterday got melted in the massive thunderstorm that rolled through this morning, so no new photos.

But these are GREAT pictures everyone.

Susan:

I love that you always post many of your daylilies in long shots of beautiful bouquets of the blooms that grow in your garden. These are the images that will carry us through the long cold Winter, back into next Spring. Your pictures are outstanding. And in that vein, I will post several bouquets that appeared in my garden in the past few days.

MAE GRAHAM - Older classic plant (Spaulding-Award of Merit 1983) that has never performed like it is performing this year. It fact, I barely noticed it in the past 4 summers. This year the flowers are huge, and it has bloomed for 5 weeks unhindered by pelting rain storms or the colder nights. A great EMO. Yesterday, this classic beauty was just beautiful.

ESP - J. Shooter - I love white daylily's and have quite a few in my garden. This could be a bridal bouquet, if only the blooms would last through the ceremony. Always an August bloomer.

EYED ALLIGATOR - Of all 30 plants that I added to my garden this year, I have been most impressed with the 3 Lambertson plants I added this Spring. I somehow in my buying selection every year overlooked this hybridizer. The colors, extraordinary eye patterns, and size of the blooms are quite extraordinary. Here is 'Eyed Alligator' as it bloomed in July and again yesterday (August 11)

No new ones today; the season's winding down, but a number of plants are thinking about reblooming if the mild weather holds. Here's Vision's Voice looking fairly blue:

Susan.... When this picture was taken, outside temps were in the low 90 degrees. And it appears that the sepals here look diamond dusted something that I hadn't noticed until I looked at this picture again. However, in looking at later pictures of 'Eyed Alligator', I don't see any diamond dusting on the bloom, and the hybridizer doesn't mention it in his description of the plant. So I would say no, it is not diamond-dusted. However, extreme heat definitely produces larger edges and an abundance of teeth which I saw on 'Eyed Alligator' in July but not in August with the cooler nights. In a warmer growing zone such as Virginia, where you live, you might see diamond dusting more prevalent on the sepals, as well as more defined teeth. I must also add that this is the first year in my garden for 'Eyed Alligator'. Until it is more a established plant, I can only comment on what I see now. And what I see, it is a well bred, very showy, lovely bloom, well worth the dollars spent on purchasing it. This one is a keeper.
