As much as seeing this big bad boy bloom is tempting i would love offshoots. Just joined this whole big wide world (NGA) and am already reaping tons of great info. love it. I would have never known we could chance cutting the flowers out. sweet stuff.

Wow Tate that semp is huge!! One down side about doing surgery is that it isn't pretty looking afterwards so you may have to hide that pot in the back of your garden if you decide to try it!
Rolling on the floor laughing I tip my hat to you.

'Pacific Magic Night' has definite new growth. Nothing noticeable yet on S. tectorum. Apologies for their dusty faces - windy at the moment! Most moments actually Hilarious!

Thanks valleylynn.....I tend to jump before looking in most things - - i don't necessarily recommend it.

If I make the cut, and I am sure I will, I will keep you posted.

A week later Sempervivum tectorum has new growth coming in, and Pacific Magic Night's new growth has gotten much larger.

Yes! Big Grin hoping they will be actual rosettes! If they start looking like flower stalks, they're getting re-snipped.

The left and possibly the middle stalks are flowers that will be re-snipped (or not, depending), but the one on the right thus far looks like a rosette. Hopefully a non-blooming one.

Success Paul!! Wow looks great!! It does take some time for these little ones to develop, but it is possible even the one on the left is a rosette! Hurray!
