Hey Linda, I didn't make the map I just posted it. Whistling Shrug! Hilarious! I do believe they are talking about July onward though so it wouldn't apply just yet if I read things right.

Well folks, normal summer seems to have returned to FL or at least my portion of it. That involves the heat up each day & then the afternoon thunder boomers crashing down around our ears. Today's just finished - at least round 1 if we don't get a round 2 later. It was a little over an hour & the rain gauge got overflowing. I had to go empty it -- it's still sprinkling lightly. BUT the total was 2"+ -- don't know the plus b/c it only holds 2".

Wow! if the Weather Channel is right, I can't wait for the "cooler than normal" temperatures we will be getting in August. Maybe it will only be 92 or 93! Here in east-central Georgia we have been having the same super-hot weather as Florida and South Carolina for the last ten days or so. Every day it has been between 97 and 100 with the cool temperature readings at 5 AM being in the mid-70's. I simply cannot water enough to keep the daylilies that grow in the sun green. They typically get a little toasty in August, but that is usually when it we have the hottest temperatures and the least rain. Unfortunately that's what we are having now. May and the first week of June were cooler and much wetter. The daylilies looked great and the blooms were some of the best I have ever seen, but that all ended about June 12. Where I live we have had one thunder storm since then and it was enough to wet the ground, but not enough to get the pavement wet under a car. I hope the daylilies' safety system of going summer-dormant will kick in and save them.

Almost similar here in our area Larry, May was cooler though no rain at all and still no rain up to now as temps continue to sizzle. Some of my plants have started their summer semi-dormancy already. Only my truly heat loving plants are in bloom, Adenium obesum, Dwarf Agapanthus and Mandevilla. Oh, but if there is anything good with this heat, I am finally seeing my caladium bulbs waking up. My first time to have them, did not truly realize what it means that it loves heat, apparently our heat wave temps Hilarious!

Just got back from a business trip to Jacksonville today. Kept looking at my phone, enjoying the view of an intense storm in my neck of the woods. Got home to find we had 1.5" of rain today! Mother Nature must have heard my plea! It's still lightly raining out there. Even the amaryllis are looking better--it wasn't a good year for them either.

Tucson is surrounded by storms right now, rain in town and outside of town. Perfectly dry here except for every ones humidity floating around us. Angry Winds just knocked down several large pots. So, why am I not getting rain??????? Glare
