I made it over to the forum but, once there, I didn't know where to start looking! I think we need an icon holding a magnifying glass Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

I won't be adding it ( corn salad ) this year. I still have layers to add to the bed. It sounds good. I want to plant kale next year too.

Thank You! for the info!

Plan ahead when growing some of those lovely leafy vegetables. I kept my kale covered all summer with some netting I bought on sale at Joann's - it kept the cabbage moths out of it.

Well, so far our weather has a lot of wet! Some of this turned to ice. After a really warm fall, our temps are now about seasonal in the 30-40 degree range. Mid-November we had some spring-like storms, including a tornado warning. But we saw this after the storm passed.

My mom in law heard another long range forecast that predicted a lot of snow for the area. We'll find out when it happens. We had a good snowfall a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't last long enough for me. But it came with the House Finches, who are always delightful to see.

El Nino is supposed to bring us a wet winter but so far it has been bone dry. It hasn't rained a measureable amount in months.

Not sure what the really long range forecast is for our area. They did say that the next few weeks should stay above average ad fairly warm.

That's fine with me! Loads of snapdragons in bloom and some candytuft decided it was a good idea to bloom and cheer up a dank day.

A whole lot of snow in a week would be preferable to months of low snowfalls but we have no voice in the matter.

Especially if the "whole lot of snow" fell around May 15th or so and melted the next day... nodding

Still looking good here, with green grass instead of snow and ice... despite record snowfalls not that far to the west of us!

Strangely, our grass is still green in most areas. If I cannot consistently see snow, that's better than brown grass.

Kelli, you've had such dry weather that I'm surprised it's only half brown! Sad

That is all very interesting, Ann. I sure hope it is wrong, at least for Zone 8. Colder, icier, and snowier are all climates I can do without. Sticking tongue out
