I know what you mean, Laura -- but I just want to win that double fan no matter what... I do much better with the DF's. Hilarious!

So, would most of you agree that you get the correct daylily most of the time from the auction? I can accept a mistake once in awhile.

Ditchlily, I don't know what historics you are interested in, but I have a ton of the old yellow flute shape ones. Old Stout ones, and the species, like citrina.

Polly, I have purchased a whole bunch on the Lily Auction now, and I've never gotten the wrong plant except one time someone sent me a bonus plant that wasn't at all like what it said it was. But everything I've ordered has been correct, and I pretty much stick to the sellers I know now and try to get feedback from others first if I think I want to try someone new.

Great! Thanks Betty. Too bad it couldn't be the same with some of the iris vendors.

virginiarose said:Good for you Marilyn! I am liking Mike144 very much. I like the communication and the selection and he has a lot of good feedback. Also I have purchased from Blueridge several times, once on eBay and once on Blooming Auction. Both were positive experiences. The good thing about ordering from him on LA is that most are triple fans for the same price and I love that. I closed several auctions yesterday and paid everybody off. I am done for time being, or so I say. Whistling

Are you referring to Mike144mann?

I'd rather not get triple fans on an auction. It would mean I'd have to divide the fans sooner. Rolling my eyes. Whistling

Except for the LA Lucy, all of the auctions for plants I did between 2000 - 2004 were the correct ones.

virginiarose said:You are right Teresa, I have ended up doing business with the same people who caught my eye in the beginning I keep going back to look at what else they have. After the initial postage you can add more for two or three dollars per plant. I am lucky they all have a good selection. The last two I only purchased one or two because they did not have anything else. They already sent them too.

Marilyn, yes, I am still planting. Things are unpredictable here. I was planting stuff in Dec and Jan last year, not much of a winter. The rest of mine are coming in the spring so I can focus on what I have and that will be great. Green Grin!
I mostly pot things up and when I get time a shove a few in the ground at a time. But at least they are potted and if the weather gets bad they can spend the winter in pots, no problem. Thumbs up

I made out real good with Sandy, just a ton of rain. Ground is saturated. Whistling

Marilyn, thanks, and thank you for asking about the hurricane. We did fine, some heavy winds and rain, but no damage. We could hear trees falling in our woods, but that will just give the neighbors some more firewood.

LA Lucy, was that a vendor name?

Polly,

When I was bidding/winning on the LA between 2000-2004, yes it was.

I noticed he had a lot of positive reviews, but the first DL he sent, bloomed the wrong cv and then I had to get Mike Longo involved and "Lucy" sent another DL for the one I won and that turned out to be blooming the wrong cv that I had won. I had won "Misty Twisty' and both times he sent the wrong one. Grumbling

Lucy was the only negative seller on the LA for me during that time and I won a lot of DL's.

I would think so, I was checking out a plant he has that has been on my want list. Lots and lots of good feedback, it says he has 8 negatives but it was really only 5 because 4 were from the same person saying the same thing. Besides that was in 2005, so that is water under the bridge, I think. Blinking

I bid on some daylily seeds from Gold Coast. The seeds are beautiful and tons of extras. In the box with the seeds was a fantastic color catalog of their daylilies. OMG Drooling Drooling I'm going to save up and buy a few from them. They are Stan and Bonnie Holley out of Lincoln, CA. Any of you know them.

I usually wait until after Christmas is over before listing any. In Feb everyone is getting Spring fever and I have seem to do well then. I have been working on my list here. It is really handy that everyone can open it and see what someone has and also see our Wish List lol.
