Oh Pia, I am so sorry I missed answering your above question.
Chris's winters are much colder than yours or mine. Both of us leave all of our semps outdoors year round.
We have a very long, wet season here in the Pacific Northwest, similar to your weather I think. Mine are out in raised beds with fast draining soil. The beds have full sun exposure so they will get as much light as possible during the winter and early spring.
I have carried some through winter in containers in full exposure to the elements with good results. Again the soil is fast draining.
That sure would have caused a bit of excitement in the sempervivum world, if it had lived and reproduced itself in the same strange color.
I wonder if that color was due to damage of some kind?
Great photo.
You would have had people lined up at your door for a chance at having one of those.
Pia, I love this. Do the photos go from top to bottom chronologically? Really love the color in the last two photos.
Are they all the same plant? Are the flattened leaves going back to being curled?
Full sun? I know that is difficult this time of year, not much sun to be found.
I am just full of questions today.
It is all the same plant. I only have this one Oditty. Got it from Ebay for £0.99. It sits on a roof that gets full sun.
The leaves have slowly turned back to tubes now. It is indeed in chronological order Lynn, at the top being when I received it in July going through the months and at the bottom is today. :D x

Yes I love the photos! I have several, which since its so wet out, I'm keeping by an open window in the only spot that I could find - my bedroom windowsill! I noticed today that there are all kinds of little roots coming out all over the soil surface, so I guess they're happy enough for now. Pia, your photo collage makes me want to make sure and take photos at several different stages of the plants
Cheers
Spring, if you can wait until late April or May, I bet I'll have a baby or 2, I always order more than I need especially if I think they're interesting...we can certainly do a trade
Yes, I got the idea from looking at my computer documents. They are in chronological order and as I scrolled down in each individual plant folder I saw the progress in each one! :D I am currently in progress of writing a blog post where I do it for each of my plants.

I have a 2'x4' bed of it. Let me know if you're interested.
