Lynn,

Here's some of my pics of that Salvia. I just noticed that I don't have the more recent pics in the db of 'Blue Angel'. I take it back. The third pic in this lineup is one I the pics I took in 2010 when I last grew it.

Wow, that really is pretty! Does it come true from seed, and do you collect seed from it?

I've only planted Blue Angel from plants. I don't know if they produce seeds. I've never collected seeds and/or looked for them. They're only annuals for me, as I have to replant them.

Yes, it is a beautiful blue! I love blue colors and love to have blue flowers blooming in my yard! Thumbs up

Great pictures!

It is so nice now that there are so many good S. patens varieties, with different sizes and colors. Last year we fell in love with the Patio Sky Blue (which is very short but has BIG flowers) planted in front of Blue Angel. We also did a grouping of darker shades - Oxford Blue, Guanajuato and Patio Deep Blue - which was my personal favorite. This year we are going to try Dot's Delight and Guanajuato together in a small bed.

I would love to hear the combos y'all use, especially with Gentian Sage.

Thanks Kermit! I tip my hat to you.

I noticed you have 4 badges, so far! Hurray! Looking good! Thumbs up

The pics I took in 2010 (the last ones) had Salvia 'Cherry Chief' with Salvia 'Blue Angel' in the two big black containers.

'Blue Angel' is the only patens Salvia I've grown so far. The other varieties have come out since I planted BA in 2010 (I think).

I get tons of blue angel seeds every year.

I get very few black and blue seeds. You have to look for them almost every day to have a chance. I was able to get 5 or 6 seeds this last year. They fall out right away.

I didn't collect the seed for Blue Angel, but I went crazy and bought 3 packets!! I usually give lots of plants away so I wanted to make sure that their would be enough Blue Angel to fill the whole spot that I'm saving for them.
