This is my only "upright" sedum, and I don't even know if it would qualify, that I remember it never gets more than a foot or so Big Grin and of course its a NOID but partly why I'm posting it today, is that I've had it for 5 years maybe and it always has stayed just the same size, 3 to 4 shoots, and when I looked at it today, its looking really full and healthy! How exciting! It gets purplish blooms (I think they start out pink and turn darker) Thumb of 2013-02-01/gg5/92e151

Greg, take more photos as it continues growing, some with a full shot so we can have a perspective on size. We might be able to ID it.

OK, also I never expected it to do much since its in part shade in winter and shade in summer...didn't think they liked that...Oh by the way I think it was a volunteer, I moved it into its present location, but I found it in the yard Lovey dubby

Some sedum can do well with more shade, but most of the uprights like full sun. Can't wait to see what the blooms look like.

I know it blooms late, like in August - again I'd always put that down to being in shade! So now I'm wondering if I should move it or just keep it where it is?? I'd planned on moving it this year, into a more sunny location, but if it fills in and likes where it is I'll gladly leave it!

They are so easy to move. Just use a large type shovel and cut down deep, away from the plant so you don't make contact with roots. They are not usually that deep rooted. Have a hole ready to place the entire root ball, dirt and all, into the new hole. I've done this many times. They are such tough plants.

Here is another photo which maybe shows its size more. Its about 10inches currently. I did notice that outside the bed, just beyond the oregano is a stalk with a baby sedum on it!! I'm going to move that into a pot in the sun!

And it has roots already!! Hooray! I may leave the parent plant, and just plant up this baby and put it slowly into full sun, to compare how they do!

I saw this patch of ground cover and am wondering if its a sedum or a saxifrage - its gorgeous whatever it is! I left the sticks thinking it would give some idea of size, but again, without knowing the size of the sticks that was useless...oh well, I'll learn! Blinking

That could be a saxifrage. You'll know when it blooms. Some of them are very hardy/tough plants, like S. 'London Pride'
