Lucky you on the rain Carol. We had hoping for a forecast humdinger of a thunderstorm but it blew through well south of us.
My fav cordyline which was well protected with Christmas lights and blankets came through the freeze well.
A cutting of the same plant I brought into the house that week does not look so hot but I believe it will root - eventually.

This used to be a rhizomatous begonia with a 3' spread. Hard to believe it will return from what looks dead but it usually does.
The Loquat tree looks well but the fruit is history for this year.
Cannas and crinums are mush, they too will happily emerge come spring but what a mess that needs to be cleaned up in the meantime.
The hot weather we had right before the freeze has the roses thinking it is spring. It is going to be hard to prune back all the new growth but it is time to do it.
I think I am going to have to eat my Wheaties and maybe some anti anxiety meds as the pundits say to not cut anything back until March.
