Yeah they should; I put the yuccas in a temporary planting area next to the house while I finished up the beds I was making.
And then I realized that they looked really cool there, so now I think I'm going to get a couple more and turn the "temporary" bed into yet another permanent one.
(Plus, it'd be another place to put more semps.) Rolling on the floor laughing

I agree with Chris on how visually interesting it will be having the semps and yucca in the same bed.

Thanks, in my main xeriscape bed I will be using the double yucca clump along the back in the middle and two Orange Vanilla Kniphofia (http://www.bluestoneperennials...) in the back corners to create some height. This is really my first attempt at planning large landscaped/plant areas so I hope it turns out okay. I was going for a unique look that I haven't seen before; I think I will achieve that. Hilarious!

Thank you for the luck and well wishing.

Here are some sad, tiny chicks. Sad These were in bad shape when I got them, and I’ve lost a Red Beauty already. I might lose a couple more. I was pretty impressed with the company I got them from though. (Not going to name any names since I haven’t ordered from them enough to say whether they are overall good or bad). I called them, let them know what happened, and they not only are replacing what has died but are resending the whole order of 15 chicks.

I just moved these into pots, so I can bring them inside over nights. That way they can be under lights, and I can control the moisture a bit better. They also seem to actively produce roots more readily when not frozen. Hilarious!

I’ll see what I can save.

It can be a challenge those first few semps...and not knowing what your weather will do! One thing that people have told me to do, and I have - leave the ones you think are dead, because they may surprise you!! I've had some that were totally brown and dead (but I was feeling lazy to do anything about them) and they began to grow new growth at the top!! (especially if they have a good root system, they will most likely return)
Very nice about the company replacing everything - free semps! (once you are ready I would like to know the name of the nursery, I want to send some business their way! I tip my hat to you.
Thanks JC for sharing this project with all of us!

Thanks for the advice Greg. I would've left the dead semp planted, but it was clearly totally dead. It was nearly dead when it arrived to me, and had absolutely no roots or stolon. Within a few hours it was gone. Sad

Here are a couple yuccas that I put in the beds out front of the house. I'm still debating if I want to move them to the back beds or not. Shrug!

Variegated Yucca? I've never seen those...what a treat! I'm a fan (and so is hubby) of those yuccas with the filaments that curl up and out. The filaments seem to soften the overall dangerous looking sword-like leaves... Rolling my eyes.

Yeah, I’m a fan of those too. nodding
Just some of the yuccas that are variegated are Color Guard, Bright Edge, Golden Sword, Ivory Tower, and Gloriosa 'Variegata'.
