Last two pics are of this week. Blooms are deep purple / violette with typical HT shape and strong damask fragrance in springs. Flatter blooms with less petals and faded shade and much reduced fragrance in hot summers.

Moderate honey fruity mix fragrance..... Shade becomes more orange as temperatures increase and when it is over 100*F, cream and salmon stripes almost disappear.

Couldn't find an entry on The Painter or Michelangelo or MACtemaik in the database. There is an entry regarding Michelangelo from Meilland (MEItelov) but not regarding Michelangelo from McGredy (MACtemaik). Any idea?

Strong fragrance, continuous blooming whole year......... this rose has perhaps become a part of our culture.

Khalid, I've created an entry for Michelangelo (The Painter, MACtemaik):

Rose (Rosa 'Michelangelo')

I see that your experience with some of these roses is different from the average stats cited in our database. Evelyn May, for instance, is said to be 2-3 feet tall, but it grows to 7-8 feet for you. I hope you'll start adding comments to the entries, describing your experience with these roses, especially when it differs from the norm.

I'm also concerned that your beautiful photos are not getting as much exposure as they should. This thread has traditionally been an informative one, explaining the process of uploading photos to the database, and therefore is largely ignored by people who already know the process. I think more members will see your photos if you post them in the current "Photos and Chat" threads. The one for this month is here.:

The thread "June 2016 -- Photos and Chat" in Roses forum

I'm going to add a link to this thread over on that thread because I want to make sure our members come over here to see the photos you've added so far.

Thanks zuzu, I have uploaded The Painter photos to the database. Today I also added few photos directly to the database. I found it quicker than first posting them in the thread here and then shifting them to database. But I am not sure they will be visible to members or no, perhaps no.

As advised I will post my pics in the recommended thread. Or may be I can open a thread of my own? Anyways, I have lots of pics to post.

Thanks a lot for the guidance.

best regards

The ones you add directly to the database are going to be seen by lots of people, but they usually don't lead to much discussion, whereas posting in the forums does stimulate discussion.

A thread of your own is a good idea. We have a lot of those, where one person posts numerous photos. They're affectionately known as our "rose parade" threads.

'The Painter' is just gorgeous! It isn't widely available in our country, but it's currently being offered by a few nurseries here. I'll have to look for it. I do love McGredy's roses, but some of them never make their way here from New Zealand.

Wow, Khalid, wow! Hurray! I tip my hat to you. Hurray!
Zuzu, since I followed Khalid's photos over to this thread, now I see how to add photos! *Blush*

How funny! So Khalid's pictures in this forum proved to be useful as well as a treat for the eyes. Big Grin

Please let me know if you have photos for which we don't have entries. Sue and I are always happy to create new entries.

Your mention of Clementine as a rose you'd avoid after seeing it in the nurseries made me think you should add a comment to that effect in the entry. I was prepared to create an entry, but HMF lists 5 different Clementines and many more with Clementine as part of the name. Any idea which one of these it might be?

The 97 Tantau, definitely. I'll add a photo and comment.
