Yup, it bloomed last May 2013, then previous to that during initial forcing, bloom came out on Jan 2012.

It did not bloom yet this year, since I made a repot in May 2014.

tarev, yes, it is a bulblet starting on your "parent" bulb. I break them off as I only want 1 decent sized bulb.

Time for an update of this amaryllis this 2015:
Since I have been giving this plant its own version of dry rest, it seems it affected that new growth I saw in Dec. but I have resumed adding water as needed in the container.

Leaves are quite long and falls nicely, I cut off one, since it has turned yellow, so it is left with these three leaves.

Bulb remains nicely green and very plump..and sadly the new growth is not visible now, may have dried up..oh well, I guess it felt it is not the time for it. That will hopefully give it more energy back to the main bulb, so I guess it is good too.

Peeking at the root zone, well, since container is glass, light comes through..algae there, but roots seems okay, I just continue to cover a bit with that white paper.

Tarev, just wondering do you expect it blooms in May this year?

I am hoping it will try, it managed it in May 2013...so just trying to keep plant happy right now. I disturbed it last year with the repot, so it might be taking its sweet time to adjust..reminds me of my orchids when I do a repot..sometimes just got to be very, very patient. Smiling

Just a March 2015 update:
Still sitting pretty there by our south facing window with its long leaves:
Thumb of 2015-03-04/tarev/29ea7a

Taking a photo of the roots as seen from below the container: like thick noodles, looks good and happy there. I think this is one of the aspects I like with this set-up, I can see the condition of the roots very well.

Just a June 2015 update. I just allowed this amaryllis to grow out its leaves, and it is done with the foliage, so it is in resting mode now. I felt the bulb to check if it is still firm..so far so good. Lifted the container to peek under, I see roots still white and thick..so it is just resting. Just going to continue it staying by our south facing window with the curtains drawn a bit. There are gel beads still mixed with the clay rocks, so there is still some moisture there for the roots.

Surprise! Tarev. How come it's done with leaves so fast? It's just the early summer now. Is this normal? May be it applies to my Peacock also? The mother grew big leaves together along its bloom in late winter. After the flowers' gone, it seemed the leaves never grew any further and now they are kind of back-growing (shrinking). Is it called "growing out" and soon entering resting mode, in summer? The baby seems doing fine in own small pot, no sign of new growth though. Contrarily, the weak, sick Celebration now, 100 days after its two blooms, is pushing up two new leaves. The wonder of Amaryllis?

Actually it usually does it here. It goes on rest mode at this time. Considering that this amaryllis bulb is not in the usual manner it is planted in, it behaved relatively well. When it is ready to wake up, it will do so again. The previous leaves my bulb had already did its job, returning back to the bulb whatever it needs.

Good luck on your amaryllis bulbs! Enjoy! Big Grin

Thanks woofie and Barbara Smiling

I was trying to see now how the roots go these past few months, seems okay so far, given the time for water poured in to be absorbed by some of the gel beads and then clay rocks will hold some, so there is enough air flow below and moisture at the same time. From time to time I try to feel the bulb just to make sure it is not going mushy and so far it is holding very firm. Smiling

Now to wait and see..will it try to bloom this winter or skip again to Spring, since it did not make any early this year. Fingers crossed!
