You haven't posted for a while. What's happening with your Amaryllis?

HI Barbara, it is still alive in its glass container vase. I have been away for about a month - family emergency. But am catching up with the threads now

Just took some photo updates today..nothing new..but just to chronicle it for Jan 2016:

So there is amaryllis staying with the other plants that are hiding indoors this winter:

It has been raining here more often than usual, so more overcast days. Just going to watch and see how it goes.

Wow, that looks like it's working out really well! Sigh, I very much fear that the one I've had in a pot for the last few years is toast this year.

Thanks woofie..sorry abt your plant though. Well, so far I can make it go on leafing..it is the blooming aspect that I cannot yet gauge well, especially when I repotted it to this bigger container..seems to hate being disturbed. But I will observe further this year, if it will try to do some bloom stalks. Sun is rather hiding these days, need more warmth and sun!

tarev: the leaves look beautiful and the bulb looks so healthy. Maybe it will surprise you and bloom soon!

I hope so too! Maybe in Spring..hopefully, fingers crossed!

It has been quite awhile since I have updated this thread!

But there is good news!! This amaryllis surely has fighting spirit, I see a bloomstalk forming woohoo! Been a long time, it last bloomed in this set-up last May 2013.got to have tons of patience indeed! I did repot it in this current glass container in 2014, I guess everytime I disturb it, just sets me back..oh well..as long as it is still alive!

The leaves are rather lousy, but still glad it is pushing with the bloomstalk! Something nice to see again this Spring finally!

Yes! Something nice to watch out for! I got one amaryllis also with a bloomstalk outdoors in a container, did not expect it, been really bad with them leaving them out all winter long. So I am watching over it now as well, our hungry snails are lurking.

And this one indoors, just testing its growing endurance. I still do not know what triggers the bloom though, and with the non-draining container, I have been quite careful with watering and hardly any fertilizer to avoid root/leaf burn. But at least the aspect of knowing if it can endure this manner of growing it, the experiment works.

It is blooming time! It managed two flowers, two better than none!

Moving it near the staircase, don't want it damaged by the air from our ceiling fan in the dining area:

Done with the blooms, then it rested for awhile.
Now it is leaf making time once more.
