Thumbs up Thumbs up I'm going to let the soil settle down a bit after the coming rain, then I'll rake it smooth and mulch it. Then Trish can plant! Hurray!

Dave it is great!!! I love the way you made it. When that wood gets wet it will hold the moisture in.

Very nice. I like the logs at the bottom! I envy you your leaves. Hard to find here in PHX. I'm sure the herbs will love it natural!

I'm reminded of watering a traditional Strawberry pot. We used to drill holes in a 2 inch PVC pipe, stick it well into the center of the pot. To water we'd fill the exposed top of the pipe then the water would seek into the depth of the pot. I wonder if that sort of watering would prevent even a little compaction?

Under the logs are all of the broken bricks, stones, etc. I don't recall if we got a pic of that, but there's a good amount there.

Yay! Looks really great to me! It won't be long now till it will look like it's always been there.

A nice piece of usable garden art, isn't it?

Shoe (who knows Trish is pondering what all to plant in there, where to place what, etc)

that is so very cool. It's going to look like a volcano spewing out herbs and vegies - what a neat visual

This isn't an herb but it could be pretty effective (red during cool weather) re Mary Stella's volcano idea... Firesticks in the top space.

Wow ... super-looking Firesticks! One of my faves. Di you put that photo in the database? It would, indeed, be an interesting volcano plant. Thumbs up

That plant is beautiful but very toxic especially when the sap gets into the eyes, so be very careful where you plant that with little ones around!!

Oh well. The roots might disturb the mortar over time and that would be terrible.

Or when you plant it with adults around as well. All Euphorbias produce a sap that is toxic to some degree. It has accounted for many trips to the ER when folks handle it and then rub their eyes without washing their hands. People have also been poisoned to death by ingesting some of the Euphorbias.

Frankly, I love them ♥ Shrug!
