Another thing I noticed, new leaves finally showing up on the long vine, it has been bare for the longest time, and the new crimson leaves from there. I have been stepping up watering/misting now that our temps are sitting mostly on the 90's and higher. Maybe it turns like that when temps are high and conditions very dry like we have here?

Mine is starting to put out new growth after a couple of weeks of doing nothing. I thought all of the rain would cause a growth spurt.

Mine has started to show nice growth this early June as temps had started to go much higher and drier. Maybe this is heat stress reaction, it is so dry here and hotter now.

That makes sense. It's getting hotter here but we still have high humidity. Usually July and August are our low humidity months.

Intensity of the sun is stronger now too. Many (not all ) Hoya's will show Pinkish Red new growth or develop a pinkish cast to the leaves under stronger light. KQ will lose some of the pink in the leaves if light levels are too low, so now that it's getting stronger light, the pink is returning. Most H. carnosa's appreciate at least a little direct sun especially in the morning.

Thanks for that info Mj. I have mine in a shady corner on the porch. My other hoyas get an hour or two of direct morning sun everyday.

I'll move it this afternoon. The mosquitos are horrible around my garden in the morning lol. I've had it for four years now and it shows mo sign of blooming any time soon.

I think higher light will get it to blooming. Do it gradually tho, so you don't burn the leaves.

My KQ is actually in a shady spot all day long, only gets maybe 2 hours at the most of some dappled afternoon sun. But that is the time of day where we have the hottest temps too. I have tried before to put it in more sun, some leaves just gets baked, so have chosen the shady north/northwest side for it. Interestingly the new crimson leaves growing showed on the side a bit more away from the sun or behind the plant. We'll see later, we are going to have 104F this afternoon, will try to see if more crimsons will come out.

I'm thankful we haven't seen any triple digit temperatures yet. Our average first 100 degree day is June 30, thankfully it's supposed to rain tomorrow night and we'll be in the 80s a couple of days.

Would really love to have your temps Cameron!! And some much needed rain as well! Today and tomorrow will be triple digits here, Sat to Monday, low to mid 90's and the triple digits returns the rest of the week. Sighing! We had a cooler May this year, really wonderful, albeit no rain, but the temps of just in the 80's was so good for the plants..I guess got to return to the reality of our thermally dry heat temps here.

I definitely look forward to the rain tomorrow night and Saturday. It's been so incredibly humid so some days it feels like 100. Thumbs down

Ah, that is something absent here, humidity, right now we are at 25% and will surely go lower later. There are days I see moments of 0 to 3% humidity here, really tinder box dry.

Those are so pretty Tarev. I'm hoping some of mine will bloom this year?
