Thanks Cameron! Giving a cheer to your Hoyas so they will bloom as well! Big Grin I am closely monitoring my Hoya kerrii variegata, it is pushing on with the buds nicely, in the middle of our heat wave conditions. Just have to spray the vines a bit and the root area. Seems to like it so it can endure our dreary dry heat here.

I've been giving mine fertilizer every two weeks. I'm hoping that will help? It's still very humid here, so most are putting out lots of new growth. Thumbs up

I am so bad with fertilizers..have not really given these hoyas any I think..maybe just an occasional spritz of orchid fertilizer mist if I even remember to do it. But I am giving them a bit more watering now, since it is too dry, and too hot especially for the ones outside. H.shooting star, always in standing water anyways and indoors so it is just okay.

That spritz of orchid fertilizer seems to be enough for you hoyas since they're blooming and producing leaves. I used to have some Spray N' Grow and my hoyas loved that stuff.

Remember the eleanor's v-f 11 rage for Hoyas? Every garden forum was saying it worked really good on Hoyas. I do not know if you can even buy it now.

I gave this one to ATP member because when it bloomed it did not have a fragrance. The tag said Hindu rope.

Last year I picked up two Hoyas and if they are not fragrant I will give them away too. Hilarious! I want one that is fragrant.

I also purchased variegated Carnosa Rubra last year.

Cinta the one in the last photo should have a chocolate fragrance. It's strange your Hindu rope wasn't fragrant. Did you smell the blooms at night? My carnosa bloomed last year and during the day it didn't have a scent but in the evening it had a chocolate fragrance.

Yep day and night I sniffed it and no fragrance at all. I will see what these two do for me or I will have to throw them in a box and mail them away. Hilarious!

Cinta, sorry that there was no scent. Guessing that there is a long list of takers. Would love to give a new home to any hoya that is going to be thrown out or mailed away. No longer have my kitty Torrie, so I am allowed to have plants now.

Hopefully your new hoyas will have a fragrance. Last year my carnosa, fungii, and DS-70 bloomed. The DS-70 had a caramel smell.

This bloomed at the end of a long string without any leaves to obstruct the view. The plant is loaded with blooms again. Seems they come in waves. This is the 3rd time to have a bunch blooming at the same time. It's still busy growing new ones, too. It's having a good year!

This time of year in Florida when the nights are so warm a lot of the Hoya's will slow down blooming But some just keep on trucking along.

Here's a few of mine blooming.

Imperalis var Rauchii, has a light fragrance at night. Lives outside in the summer months so I usually miss it. In the winter when it moves into the greenhouse I'll smell it it the morning when I open the door.

H. aff incrassata This one's very fragrant, spicy. Especially in morning and late afternoon.

Thumb of 2015-07-03/mjsponies/d2bcdb

Dark Pink Hoya carnosa. Have had it for ages.

Thumb of 2015-07-03/mjsponies/b0d7af

H.pubicalyx " Splash " is one that just does not quit . Starts blooming early in spring and keeps right on going till it goes in the greenhouse around November.

Ivy if it does not have fragrance you have first dibs on it. I am only growing them because of the fragrance I have read about. Hilarious!

Sorry you lost your cat. Even when our pets are bad we still love them. I happen to have a odd cat. He will not touch my plants and he demands his food on time in his plate and in his room. When he jumps in the window he is very particular and careful not to knock any plants out of the window. He only likes to lay under the large floor plants and pretend he is in the jungle taking a nap.

Thank you for the pending offer. (I have a old nose so I might not smell it if there is a fragrance at all. Smiling ) For my next cat, I plan to have a carpenter make shelves in my window that will be cat proof. I will have an area on the bottom for kitty and the top area of the window will have hanging plants.

Just curious mj... is the blooms on your H.pubicalyx " Splash " actually purple or is that just the camera view??
I hate losing plants....I know they are "just plants" but when you nurse them along and baby them and get them to grow, bloom, and be pretty and they die....it's like losing a friend..... Crying

Kim the blooms are just a little darker than they are showing in the photo. It was in the shadows and without the flash the plant was just disappearing. Foliage is a little darker than shown also.

When I had my indoor Kitty and plants that came in the house, which is generally only during winter had to stay in one extra bedroom with the door closed. Even the one's on the screened in porch had to be kept hanging up. If I forgot to close the Plant/bedroom door she was in there in a flash. Almost like a kid sneaking candy. Grumbling
