Oldrelicsse does take some time to get things shipped out, sometimes... but I always got it. I can't speak for everyone, but that has been my experience.

Oldrelicsse usually won't ship until you let him know you are ready and he wont ship if his weather is to hot, which I agree with . I have bought from him and always get nice plants.

His auction mentions 'fall shipping'. That is a tad ambiguous, but to me in the hot south, it means late sept., or oct. He has been selling as long as Ive shopped on the LA, and thats been many years. Whistling

I had a terrible experience with Oldreliccsse...he refused to send my plants when HE stated they would be shipped then refused to communicate with me...I had to get Mike Longo involved...then he finally did send them. Then he promptly blocked me from his auctions. He is the only seller in over 150 transactions I have ever had a serious issue with. He told Mike that it basically was a lot of trouble to respond to people via email...I dont understand why he sells online if he cant communicate??

Emily, I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. When I sell plants I always try to communicate with the buyers. I know that if I am the buyer, that I expect good communication from others. It is time consuming, but that is just part of customer service and being courteous.

My experience mirrors Emily's. No response and then took forever to ship even after he said they were in the mail. Plants arrived dry and only after he shipped them did he mention they were 'on the small side' though they had nice looking root systems. Unfortunately both fans rotted despite my best efforts.

I received an email from Pay Pal today saying they were making some policy changes. This will help with purchases from LA.

• We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days.
• We're extending buyer protection to include item not received claims for custom made products.
• Because PayPal Seller Protection and Buyer Protection policies may vary from country to country, we're adding language to clarify which country's policy applies when a seller makes a sale to a buyer outside of the U.S.

If you use PayPal after the date these changes become effective, we will take that usage as your consent to the changed terms.

There's now a LA seller who is located in Ty Ty, Ga.

I asked him if he was in anyway associated with Ty Ty Nurseries and he said he was not and sounds legit.
So I will consider his auctions.

I had such a bad experience with Ty Ty Nurseries years ago -- tough to get over it.
Many have been burned by Ty Ty.
One bad seed can ruin it for all.

Never heard of TyTy nursery, had to look them up. I havent seen any of the LA TyTy.
Sounds like a nursery I almost got taken, in Ca. Luckily I posted, and got tons of responses NOT to buy from the place. I went back, did some research. The guy sold lots of things, in my case I was ordering roses. He would take the order, go find a rose like you wanted and come home and try to root it. He has a wonderful website, and nary a plant or tree to his name, goes and finds them when you order. Nuts. I felt like a fool, but at least not a broke fool.
He told me had had a Brass Band rose. I had been looking for 4 years, should have known something was wrong.

I think if I lived in Ty Ty, Ga, I'd move.
Ty Ty Nursery hasn't done the name any good.
I don't know of anyone over the years who has had good experience with Ty Ty Nursery.

And like the fellow Pam describes, they used to put out a wonderful catalog, etc.

I bought seeds last year that were shipped in the dead of winter from two separate sellers, one very well known, temps got down to -27, the seeds sat in my mailbox for over 8 hours while I was at work, none germinated. My opinion is that they froze to death

No blame for what happened, as this was a first in many years of buying seeds seeing the temps get that cold at the same time I requested seed shipment.

As a seller myself, I contacted the sellers to let them know what happened, I figured it was a lesson for all of us to not ship in extremely cold weather.
I was offered refund or replacement which I turned down "one sent me seeds anyway" because I couldn't blame them for mother nature.

Anyway there may be legitimate reasons for delayed seed shipments, but I would explain the reasons so buyer knows what is going on and why I would recommend waiting a bit longer, buyer can overrule if he chooses, but............................if seeds do not germinate after they insist on shipment who is the fall guy then?

Interesting, I would think if the seeds were shipped in the middle of winter they would have been harvested much earlier, and if so I would think those seeds had plenty of time to dry out. If the daylily seed were dried internally I thought they should easily be able to withstand freezing temps. I am willing to bet the well known seller does this all the time(shipping in the middle of winter) with very few problems or they would not do it. Could have just been bad seed, or I guess any number of problems but I am surprised that the issue is suspected to be "frozen to death". I have no experience with frozen daylily seeds would love to hear from some others who have dealt with the issue.
