I picked a nice bloom of Clothed in Glory this afternoon and just wanted to share. I brought it inside to enjoy. It still looks good after a light shower and at 6pm. I will miss seeing new blooms everyday.

My one experience with Pete Harris was benign.

The auction ended 9.14, I sent a payment 9.18, shipment notification 9.29, and beautiful plants arrived 10.02.

There was no gift, but the quality of the fans was more than enough.

Last winter I won several DL from Pete on the auction and ordered the 2014 TET collection. Communication was not great when I spoke to Pete directly, but when I spoke to Rossen the process was quickly resolved. I think Pete has so many things going on he sometimes gets behind. Overall very pleased with the quality-of the DL sent.

Well, he was bidding away on seeds this weekend, but Ive still heard nothing. I did notice something Ive rare seen, and that is someone gave him negative feedback ( they actually sell on the LA too ), and one person is trying to communicate with him thru the feedback, I actually thought that was kinda funny.

He has good taste tho, I noticed going back, that we bought some of the same seeds from James. Big Grin .

If your experience is anything like mine with them, your plants will just show up within the next few days. Nicole DeVito (Ndl) is about the same with communications, at least with me. When things are less hectic for her she will respond to my emails, but if she's busy the plants will just show up when I request them. And they are such beautiful plants that I just sweep aside that bit of irritation at her lack of communication.

I have their pots ready, and truly do believe they will come this week. In the meantime, Ive got so much daylily work to keep me busy, my head is spinning.

I see that Amazing_daylilies posted their weekly auctions last night -- quite early in the week for them! And there are no $5 daylilies in this batch, so I think you got a great deal Pam!

Alrighty, got my plants from Rossen.
I will say, like you said, they were very nice plants. Extra fans of everything. Looked very nice.

The odd thing was, and I dont know if this is how they do all their fans, but each fan was individual.
18 individual fans to plant, instead of three plants, that were still connected. It took me forever to plant them today. Ill have to go back out tomorrow and water them some more...pull them up..water...until the get a nice firm base.

Pam, that should keep you out of trouble. Rolling on the floor laughing You could plant them together. I usually plant mine in separate areas when they come as separate fans.

I occasionally get SFs when I win an auction. I plant mine close together maybe within 6 inches. When they bloom it looks like a clump.

Pam, I'm glad I read your message. I have a small order with them and just emailed last night asking them to mail the plants this week instead of the first week in Nov. Now I don't expect to hear from them, and won't be surprised if the plants show up or not. Doesn't matter much. I've been out in the garden for 5-6 hr a day, pulling out daylilies, downsizing them, amending the soil and replanting. Only have 2 more boxes to go ... should be done before the end of the week. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Great thread! Well, I have only purchased one daylily from the LA, and that was ¨Forestlake Ragamuffin¨ from Johnny Appleseed, and I've purchased seeds from Lily. I am waiting on the Identity Crisis x Identity Crisis seeds I just won from Rich.

This was the first year that I sold seeds on the LA, and I had a negative experience with a buyer! This guy won my auction, contacted me late, and then promised to send me a check when my auction clearly stated I only take PayPal. Long story short, after contacting the admin Mike, who was great BTW, I found out that this guy was bidding from three different user IDs! I left negative feedback after talking with Mike, who eventually banned the guy from the LA.

While you can pick up some pretty nice deals on the LA, I agree with an earlier poster about buying directly from hybridizers who don't sell their plants on the LA. I am more than open about my bias towards Maryott's plants since I am in CA too. But, if you go to his site the last month of his shipping cycle, you can get A LOT of fans for a reasonable price; he always has BOGO free sales, and I've never received anything less than a double fan for each cultivar I've ordered. Here's the box I received from him a little more than a month ago. Can you believe I got all these fans for $75 + S/H? Oh, and he gave me THREE bonus double fans!!
