Yes, they sure have good root systems. I ordered ten triple fans but ended up with about fifty fans. I had the same thing happen with Falcon Gardens, I ordered two DF's of Moonlit Masquerade and he sent 8 fan clumps on each one. I got at least two plants from each clump and some I got three or four. I did order 12 fans of Prairie Moonlight for the corner bed. I like to stop traffic once in a while.

Susan, we both think Ed Hartsell sold his hybridizing tools under the same name, Earthstar.

I just checked for Pollendabber on the Lily Auction. He is selling hybridizing tools, etc. I looked at his feedback and this person's name is Ed, also. So, Earthstar and Pollenbabber MAY be the same person.

*******OK, here is the answer. I went through several pages of Pollendabber's feedback and found this one posted by the one and only Tommy Maddox---I buy all my hybridizing tools from Ed Hartsell, thanks Ed, Tom Maddox.

Yes, pollendabber is his id for hybridizing supplies.

I've mostly purchased hybridizing supplies from him, both from EarthStar and through the LA, and recently I purchased two plants of his own introduction, CRYSTAL WIND, a yellow toothy small, from him through the LA. And he sent fantastic plants! Ed is really great to deal with.

He is very nice, I hope I can do more business later. I love the plants I got from him. I cannot find CRYSTAL WIND anywhere, even AHS has no photo.

Susan, if you really want to see it I recommend you email Ed and maybe he can email you the picture and let you know if he has any available. I didn't copy it to my IPhoto at the time; I just printed out the Lily Auction sheets on it and did ye olde cut and paste to put a picture of it in my book(s) I keep on all my daylilies. I know when I saw it he had five plants available as Store Items and I purchased two of them -- and then he later said that a couple of days later someone else bought the other three. And the plants he sent were gorgeous -- several fans each. Here's one of his email addresses if you're interested.

I've ordered a plant but he's not shipping yet so I can't speak to that. I will say he's a nice guy and working to put together a daylily society in these parts so it would seem is very much into the flowers.

I just got a wonderful box from Mary Jane Meadows (Bubbles on the LA)! I wasn't expecting anything until May, because heck, we had snow showers on Wednesday! And my trees still don't have leaves and my daffodils and tulips are still freezing.....

But this box came, and the weather is absolutely GORGEOUS outside and it is supposed to stay that way for a few days, so it is perfect timing.

I won some Last Snowflake X Westbourne seedlings from her on the LA, and then separately ordered Oranges For Christmas. I have wanted OFC since seeing Rita rave about it for several years now, and have wanted LS, but never saw it for a price I was happy with - but these seedlings, crossed with her Westbourne's are exactly perfect. She sent Hard Times as a bonus.

I just LOVE Westbourne daylilies - they are amazing bloomers and were really tough in that miserable summer we had last year, and have survived the frigid winter better even than some of my dormants. I know I am going to love all of these - although now I need to find someplace to plant them!!!

These daylily roots were wrapped in damp paper towels, and then in plastic bags, and look great. OFC is leek sized, the rest, even as seedlings, are moderate sized.

I'm a happy person today

I got some MaryJane last week as well. Glad you mentioned that, I took them out back and forgot to plant them.

I didnt get any from her, I thought it would be to hot down here when she started shipping. As it turns out, its the coolest april I think weve ever had. Im getting a couple small shipments next week, thats for sure it. If I cant stop myself, the weather sure can stop me!!!!
