I found a bloom cluster on a Hoya australis plant today; fragrance is so nice. Blurry photo cause it's very windy here today:

Yay, nice bloom!!!!

Jelinda, how is your kerrii/wayetti (sp?) doing? I had the exact same thing happen, but the opposite of Lin - I think I over-watered and the roots probably died. I removed, repotted and most of the starts rerooted for me. I wonder if heat is a factor in rerooting - we have plenty of that here, lol...

In the end, only kindness matters.

Boy - I had a lot to catch up with!!!

Lin...glad you are tipping your plants out of the pots!!! I do it often and I also squeeze the pots...that way I can sometimes tell if it needs water AND if the root ball is too thick/dense. I find the problem is NOT that it has no soil...but that the roots are so dense they don't allow the water into the middle and it runs down the sides, not doing anything for the plant!!! That's one of the reasons I squeeze the pots...breaks up the root ball a bit.

It's all about choices.

Hoya Shooting Star in bloom once more..so it does prefer cooler temps and keeping the container sitting on water. Love this plant, so this year it bloomed well in Spring and now in Fall, it struggled in Summer, just blasted that time.

I have one little flower umbel on a Hoya lacunosa that smells so sweet in the evening. Hoya australis has lots of buds and I can't wait for that one to bloom because it has an awesome fragrance as well; it's hanging outside so I'll have to keep a watch so that I catch the blooms when they open!
