Ivy: I've never seen them for sale in the stores; I got mine in a trade. There are some on line sellers who might carry it though:

I haven't checked out Joni's site in awhile but she may have plants or cuttings for sale: http://srqhoyas.com/

Joni used to be a member on DG and I think cubits too and I believe she has a great reputation.

I don't know anything about the following sellers but googling I see a "Buy it Now" on e-bay where you wouldn't have to bid:

How are you Lin?. Thank you for the information. Since I grow my few plants indoors under lights, I am unable to trade for cuttings because they do not get sufficient or natural light to grow strong. I am willing to buy them though and when this snow ever stops, will look forward to searching out a cutting or two. This is a winter that will not quit. So far 25" of snow has fallen this season, more is coming today. A new plant will definitely cheer me up!.

We were in the Philippines a few weeks ago and had a chance go outside Metro Manila to the City of Tagaytay. We ended up in an area called Picnic Grove.

As we hiked around, found this Hoya Shooting Star growing in the wild, wrapped around a tree limb:

tarev: Great shots of that H. multiflora, I hope you had a great time while visiting the Philippines. Many hoyas come from the Philippines; I can only imagine how awesome it would be to see them in their natural habitat!

I was glad to see that one in the wild, I now understand a bit more what it likes. No wonder my hoya shooting star at home seems to be more actively in bloom during cool weather, and pouts big time when it is hot. Weather in that area, Tagaytay, is cooler being higher elevation compared to Manila.

And as it is my Hoya shooting star at home is currently in bloom too, temps are cool, it is indoors so gentle temp variation. Big Grin

My Hoya multiflora is getting eager to rebloom again, a first for me to see, usually after its first flush..that's it...I guess our sudden cool down in temps is making it happy:

I have been watching how it does it reblooming on its old peduncle..so it is like doing layers on top of layers:

Hurray! Congrats on the re-blooming tarev! Yep, that's how they do, the peduncle grows as the plant grows and new blooms form on the same peduncle.

Thanks Lin! I hope it tries to bloom soon..we will begin to get quite hot here in the mid 90's this week, and even if it is indoors, somehow it knows and might kick out the buds! Fingers crossed!

My oldest Hoya. H. carnosa...color you don't see very often, more often it's the light pink kind. This one is very dark pink.

I have found that my DS-70 blooms at the same time every year as does the rest.DS-70 blooms in late feb./early March before going outside,kp/rubra starts next while still inside then takes off once put out, then once outside the kq/tri-color blooms and last but not least compacta/hindu rope and they bloom until it begins to cool off in the fall. The only other one i have is also the biggest and it has never bloomed 'chelsea'. I have them all in mostly shade under tree's but they get good light & high humidity.

Please share any idea's or advice you may have on getting the Hoya carnosa 'Chelsea' to bloom. Thumbs up
I think it needs repotting but some say they've left theirs in the same pot for years or they like being root bound but i think because it's in a 8 inch pot it should be in a larger pot. I had planned on posting a picture of the chelsea but guess i need to go take one!! I was sure i had already taken one Shrug! Whistling

Jalinda:
Your photo in the database shows a really a healthy looking plant. I had two of them but gave them both away because I could never get them to bloom! Being of the carnosa clan, I'd think they'd bloom at the same time as the others but for some reason that one was very stubborn and I got tired of looking at them just sitting there doing nothing. I do still have a little rooted cutting in a vase of water hanging in a backyard tree but if it dies it won't bother me. Smiling I'm sure the blooms are probably very similar to the other carnosa's and I'd sure like to hear how folks get them to bloom! Smiling

Tarev,
Put a tray under it with water, don't set the plant in the water, but that way the added humidity will help. Also you can pull it into some shade and mist it.

Very pretty variegated Hoya kerrii Thumbs up

It is in shade and I do mist it now more often Big Grin I took the cue from my Hoya shooting star indoors which enjoys literally sitting on water..but since Hoya kerrii v has more succulent leaves, I was just misting it more. Actually more than mist, I give it an early morning shower..it seems to like it that way. Big Grin
