Nice collection! Drooling I believe the second one is Sansevieria trifasciata 'Bantel's Sensation'. I have one, and while it's a little temperamental, I love the varigation and the shape of the leaves.

I think the 13th picture is S. cylindrica, the 7th could be Black Gold and the one I have marked S. stuckyi is not that at all according to the pictures I've been checking out. I guess sometimes plants are marked wrong when you buy them.

I think that it was suggested that the 2nd one down could be Bartels Sensation. These are just my guesses: the 5th one down looks like Whale Fin Snake Plant (Dracaena masoniana). The 8th one down looks like Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata 'Forescate')
The 3rd from the bottom may be S. Gold Hahnii Bird's Nest Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata 'Golden Hahnii')

I've always wondered about Mason's Congo. I got that huge plant from Longwood Gardens years ago and it never matched the description. Although the foliage is 4 to 5" wide on each leaf. I think you are right about that. The third from the bottom was marked Twisted Sister but I was never sure if this was marked right since I bought it at a plant sale for charity. I also have two S. cylindrica 'Striated' which I think may be the 9th from the bottom and S. robusta but I don't remember what plant that name belongs to since I've had some of these plants for a while. Thank you for your thoughts.

Mason's Congo is thick like leather, the leaves are dull and it will break any pot it is planted in when it grows. I have my doubts about yours being S. masoniana although at first glance it looks like it.

Hetty, I think you're right. I didn't think about that. The ones that I've seen are very heavy, thick, robust plants like you said.

That Golden Hahnii is lovely. I had a couple of plants when I lived in Maine but they were temperamental, like Bantel's Sensation which I love. Your masoniana lookalike might be S longiflora. I have one which is developing some adult leaves with a lovely red edge. Mason's Congo is unmistakeable. Mine's only produced one leaf in about 5 years but it's enormous.

I repot them all every two years. So they seem to push up new foliage right after a new fresh bed of soil.

Not sure this has been covered in this thread but what kind of potting compost do people use for their Sans?

Hello Treehuger.
Bin busy and late. Love your collection. I think you got Bantel's Sensation twice. A taller grower and smaller one. Could be conditions or some thing keeping them different in size. I have the same thing with mine. Most don't seem to grow above 1-1/2 feet and I like it that way. I think twisted sister is correct for that one. The hardest ones to ID is the other kind of Sansevieria other than trifasciata. There are over 70 different kind and look so much alike to me. My current favroite currently is Sans. trifasciata futura 'Asahi'. No two leaves alike and has all the colors of every Sans I own.

It's like a larger verison of Sans. tri. hahnii 'Golden Hahnii'.

Both are fussy and I grow them in a heated old fish tank. Kept on the dry side during winter.

Interesting that Morgenstern's Futura Aurea has a second name. I must make a note of that.
